Subject: Meh... it's allright
This show was allright.

Honestly, I have seen the biscuits the last 3 or 4 years on New Year's (every year since Phish's last New Years show) and this was my least favorite.

Not to say they sounded bad, the biscuits always rock the shit out, especially at the Hammerstein, but all I'm saying is, and this is my main complaint, I would have liked to see more of the actual "Disco Biscuits", the band we all know and love (and paid good money to see).

New Deal sounded really good and I liked the whole New Deal>Bisco>New Deal (Etc.) thing.

Anyway, if you are a true Biscuits head, give this show a shot. However, New Year's 2004 is far superior to this one (my favorite New Year's show so far. Set 2 is mind-blowing).

This show was amazing. Many have found that since this show, there is no better way to spend New Year's Eve than rockin' out at the Hammerstein with these guys and seein what kinda shit they're gonna pull out to ring in the new year. Cool show cause the New Deal set was segued right in from the Biscuits' first set. A nice Morph and Aceetobee, followed by a 42 and a little Basis jam with Bisco, and the Deal is off and running, doing their thing, gettin everyone pumped for New Year's. Biscuits then proceed to switch back on one-by-one and rage the end of Basis for the New Year's countdown.

Second set was kind of a mess, but I'll talk about that later. Third set, however, was a treat. Rock>Insane>PygmyTwylyte>Voices>Candy rocks out real hard, and finishes strong with a dyslexic beginning of Munchkin and finally ending 42 from way back at around 11:00.

Now, about the second set. If you decide to download this show; which you should; make sure not to download any of the bullshit with the MC and interviews backstage or introducing the different bands. The guy was really fuckin annoying and the music in between was pretty good. Some hilarious South Park covers are in there, as well as a couple gems like Oname Wa brough to you by Panda Power, a Devo-style Frog Legs courtesy of The Perfume, and the Fuck the Robots theme.

Overall, an amazing show, which started a great tradition of NYE in NYC at the Hammerstein; one we all hope will continue for many years to come.
